Vondo Dam, situated near Thohoyando, Limpopo Province, South Africa is a 43m high Earth-Fill Dam with a 286m crest length.Outlet works comprises of a stunning wet well intake tower and the dam serves mainly for irrigation purposes.

Dam capacity is 30.5 million m³ and a gross storage capacity of 130 million m³.

Vondo Dam Instrumentation consists of the following:
  • Vibrating Wire Piezometers in the Embankment and foundation measuring pore pressure.
  • Data Acquisition System CR800/1000 (Valve House).

Instruments installed in and around the Dam Embankment are intended to monitor:
  • Pore pressure within the Embankment and foundations.
