Impala Platinum Mine

The Impala Platinum Shaft 20, situated close to Sun City started early 2005. During stabilization of the shaft rock face Vibrating Wire Strain Gauges were installed at various pre-determined positions. Strain Gauges were installed in a two dimensional rosette (horizontal and vertical) formation and embedded with shotcreet.

Impala Platinum Mine Instrumentation consists of the following:

Vibrating Wire Strain Gauges in the shaft to measure stress and strain.
