Malibamatso Bridge, situated in the northern parts of the Lesotho highlands, is an 86m high Box Girder Bridge stretching 465m with a 10.5m wide deck.

The bridge rests on 9 spectacular piers, the highest 86m vertical. Unbeknown to most people - these piers are hollow inside. During launch of the deck the movement/tilt and load in each pier had to be monitored on a continuous basis.

Malibamatso River Bridge Instrumentation consists of the following:

• Inclinometers to measure movement of each pier.
• Load Cells to measure load between pier and platform.
